Redwood Forest, Crater Lake, and the Oregon Coast

First stop: Northern California.  We spent a day in the Redwood Forest walking around and looking at really, really big trees.  We even got to drive through one!

After the Redwood Forest, we made our way to Crater Lake.  Believe it or not, there was about a foot and a half of snow on the ground while we were there.  Crater Lake was absolutely gorgeous and we had fun playing around in the snow.  On the down side, it was FREEZING at night.

We spent the last five days making our way up the Oregon Coast.  I have often wandered why the NJ and CA beaches are so famous when Oregon is so green and pretty.  This week, I found the answer: rain.  It rained and rained and rained this week.  Plus, it was freezing.  Let's just say that while pretty when the sun comes out, Oregon is just no the place for us.
We did, however, get some beautiful pictures when the sun came out for a few hours.  Enjoy!

Astoria

Our trip up the coast ended with Portland.  We spent some time walking around the city, eating, seeing music, and eating :)  We also saw Sara Bareilles.  She was amazing; we really enjoyed the show!
